House of Ladosha
The utlimate gateway into the House of Ladosha’s brain, launched in tandem with our 2016 exhibition “This is UR brain” at BHQFU. It featured a livestream of the gallery, a gif wall, and a neverending stream of our ever evolving social feeds.
Born in Hong Kong, grew up in solitude in Arizona’s desert heat. Much of her daily inspirations are derived from her imagination, comic books / video games, people’s stories and the transient states of technology. Her background resides in graphic design, art direction and illustration. As of late, her work has evolved into experience design and storytelling. She currently serves as an adjunct professor at Parsons. Curious at heart and loves the unknown.

In 2014, traveling back to her native Surinamese roots to establish an on-going research and documentation project exploring the core of her identity in a country made up of 90% rainforest.
Along the journey, NVS was sent into the Amazon to visit Maroon villages and to the top of Suriname at Galibi beach with the Carib Indingeous tribe on a video and photo project commissioned from Surinamese Holistic Healer, Loraine Van Tuyl, PhD.
The Suriname Journal is does not end in 2014, Nicole Van Straatum is finding ways to further discover her heritage through personal and sourced experience, photography, writings, and interviews. Series 1 is only the first chapter of Nicole’s life-long voyage of cultural, historical, and individual understanding of being a second generation Surinamese-American.

Natalie O’Moore is a portrait and fashion photographer currently based in Los Angeles.
Upon graduating in 2013 from New York University’s Gallatin School of Individualized Studies with a BFA in Photography and Modern Art, Natalie moved to Los Angeles to pursue personal photographic projects. She is interested in the legacy of American road trip photography, self-portraiture, and the ability to create a feminine language through imagery.
